Directories & Paid Lists vs RateMyDick.ai

Type any dick-rating query into a search engine and the top results are rarely rating services — they are lists of rating services. Directories, "best of" listicles, category pages. This layer decides what most people ever see of the market, which makes it worth a page of its own: not a review of one list, but a guide to reading all of them.

The shape repeats wherever we looked. The category's best-known adult directory keeps a dick-rating shelf of ten services, with reviews that read like someone genuinely used them — and routes every outbound click through a link-cloaking affiliate domain. One rival operator runs three near-identical directories under different names, each with an "Add Your Site" page. A directory devoted entirely to rate-my niches carries the longest list, about twenty entries next to an advertising page — including a tool whose hosting had been dead for weeks when we checked, an HTTP 402 where a product used to be. A Discord server directory sells placement in so many words: "Own 'dick rating' and rank #1 for this search." And the mainstream AI-tool directories rank for the query while their top-listed AI rater sits dead, its listings outliving it.

None of that makes the lists dishonest. It makes them shelves. Placement is paid for — flat listing fees, revenue share on what a listing sells, or per-conversion commissions — and you do not have to take our word for it, because the mechanics are visible from outside: affiliate parameters on the outbound links, ad slots inside results, open offers to buy a search term. The structural consequence matters more than the money. A list assembled from services with referral programmes is a list of services with referral programmes; whatever runs no affiliate programme — most of the free tier, for instance — has no route onto the shelf at all, however good it is.

So use directories for what they are genuinely good at, which is breadth: half an hour on a big one will show you the shape of the category faster than anything else. Then apply the two checks no shelf will run for you. Open a thing before you pay it — dead tools keep their rankings for months — and ask what the list earns when you click, because that answer explains most of what is and is not on it.
